Dear Friends,

I beckon you all fellow neurosurgeons, as teachers, as physicians, as researchers, as scientists, and above all as “Citizens of Neurosurgery” to our annual congregation in December 2019 to the vibrant city of Mumbai. This year's meeting is a unique blend of multiple societies, across the globe that speak the common language of Neurosurgery. Like the “Cosmopolitan” let us mingle together with newer and challenging ideas and experiments, with radical innovations and thoughts, with new gusto and imagination, and with love in our hearts, and with enlightened spirits. Mumbai, the city that never sleeps has a distinctive pulse and will enthrall you with its Bollywood, heritage Gothic architecture and modern high rises. Let us come together with a deep and abiding appreciation for our commitment to the most challenging and awe-inspiring profession of neurosurgery and celebrate our innovations and ideas. In this Long March, let us commit ourselves to taking the first and necessary step of serving our brothers and sisters everywhere with equanimity, and with full commitment, heralding a new place of dignity for all on the banquet table of history. We are at the forefronts of new science, new knowledge, and a new humanity. As neurosurgeons, let us be the true pilgrims in this great voyage of life and spirit.
